Sixteen technology companies have confirmed senior spokespeople for Tech Talks by Why Scripted, an unscripted interview series to be recorded on the exhibition floor at Tech Week Singapore 2026 on 29–30 September 2026.
The premise is a complaint about how corporate interviews usually work. Questions are sent ahead, answers are rehearsed, and anything unguarded is removed in the edit. What survives is accurate and almost completely uninformative. Why Scripted’s position is that the format itself is the problem, so the series removes the escape hatches: one continuous take, no script, no rehearsal and no second attempt. Guests are told the theme in advance and nothing else.
An unusual proportion of the confirmed guests work at the connectivity and network layer rather than the application layer that normally dominates programming at AI events. Subjects include how subsea capacity is committed years ahead of the traffic it will carry and fixed the moment a cable enters the water; what happens operationally in the first hour after a cable is cut; and what diagnostic capability the industry has given up by moving from full packet capture to sampled and summarised telemetry, as encryption reduces what remains readable on the wire. Enterprise IT operations and support escalation are also covered.
