Trump, Musk’s Hosted X Space Says More About the CEO’s Political Interest
Elon Musk on X, his beloved platform, hosted United States Republican presidential nominee and former President Donald Trump, who at the same time made his reappearance on the platform after being banned for almost two years now.
The interview, originally scheduled for 8PM ET on Monday, faced some technical difficulties that got in the way. Elon Musk on X posted 18 minutes after the interview was supposed to take place that his platform X was a target of “massive DDoS attack” – distributed denial-of-service, which led to the delay in hosting the space between both billionaires.
When the interview of Trump with Elon Musk began on X, following the 42-minute technical glitch, the presidential candidate recounted the events of his failed assassination attempt and discussed plans for what he described as the largest deportation to take place in US history.
When it comes to the questions of ‘How many people watched Trump on X?’ Musk revealed on his official profile that that the views reached up to 998 people listening to the Space, hosted by former President.

The presence of 915,000 listeners on X during the interview between Musk and Trump is quite significant and speaks volumes about the current political situation in the US, and how the tech billionaire is squeezing himself further and further into the political scene. During the interview, both Trump and Musk welcomed the idea of Musk joining Trumps next administration in aiding to cut governmental waste. Elon Musk on X even volunteered to merge perspectives through “government efficiency commission.”
“You’re the greatest cutter,” Trump told Musk, “I need an Elon Musk — I need somebody that has a lot of strength and courage and smarts. I want to close up the Department of Education, move education back to the states.”
When Elon Musk acquired X, he mentioned that he wanted to turn the app into an “everything app,” and this vision is becoming more and more evident in the events that have unfolded. He himself has become an “everything man” as well.
The tech billionaire is sharing with the world his newly found love and interest in politics, gaining attention when he was seen applauding Israel’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, in Congress on the 24th of July, 2024.
Before that, Musk, upon an initiation from Netanyahu, visited Israel in November 28, 2023. The visit, which was far more than a mere friendly gesture, tested Musk’s sense of humanity.
During that period, Elon revealed on X that Starlink was to provide Palestinians with network access after the outbreak of Israel’s ragging war on Palestinians, following the October 7 attack. This was further complicated when Jewish advertisers pulled their ads from X, prompting Musk to issue an apology on the platform.
