Keeping Up with the Consumer Electronics Show 2024
The Consumer Electronics Show 2024 is here and it’s looking cutting-edge already.
- CES 2024, the annual tech spectacle, kicks off in Las Vegas from January 9th to 12th.
- Companies like LG, Samsung, Urbanista, and Roku have already teased their latest offerings before the official commencement.
It’s that time of the year again. The Consumer Electronics Show 2024 (CES 2024) is upon us and companies are gracing us with their latest innovations, thoughts, and feelings.
If you have no idea what I’m talking about, allow me to introduce a massive annual event where the world’s biggest tech companies gather to display their latest technologies. I’m talking about every single tech shark out there coming together under one roof to discreetly try to one-up each other. The displays range from next-gen TVs to mind-controlled robots. It’s like they wait the whole year just to show off for us, the consumers. Do you feel special?
This year’s Consumer Electronics Show 2024 is taking place in Las Vegas, U.S.A. from January 9th to 12th. It’s an industry event rather than a public one. The Consumer Technology Association (CTA), which organizes the CES, is expecting about 150,000 industry attendees, with over 3,500+ companies exhibiting. And now let’s talk tech. Drum roll, please!
Although the event is yet to start, some companies have already announced some of their creations.
LG dropped this year’s QNED TVs with five years of software updates, its Gram line of large, powerful laptops, and its new high-end OLED TVs. Meanwhile, Samsung showcased its Galaxy Book 4 series and its newest curved and flat-panel OLED Odessey monitors. Urbanista, for its contribution, showed off the two latest updates to its solar-powered lineup: the Los Angeles over -ears and the Phoenix.
Microsoft’s Xbox Series S toaster…
Roku introduced its Roku Pro TVs, pretty and practical.
Microsoft’s Windows 11 laptops will now sport a special key to launch Copilot AI, starting with Dell’s new XPS laptops.
It’s not just big names in the game that get to stretch their legs at the Consumer Electronics Show 2024, but startups as well. Clicks is selling an iPhone case that adds a physical BlackBerry-style keyboard. Ah, the nostalgia!
For some reason, transparent TVs are a point of interest there with both Samsung and LG showcasing them. LG’s is the Signature OLED T and Samsung’s Transparent MicroLED. Why transparent TVs are a thing is beyond me, but I have to admit they’re pretty nice… if you can afford it.
All of this and the event hasn’t started yet. We are still yet to hear from AMD, Hisense, Nvidia, Lenovo, Qualcomm, and for some bizarre reason L’Oréal at the Consumer Electronics Show 2024. Yes, you read that right, beauty giant L’Oréal is making history as the first-ever CES keynote from a beauty company.
What we know for sure is that it’s going to be an AI heaven… or hell, depending on how you see it.
