What Will Happen to TikTok?

TikTok fanatics are worried about how they will be able to move on after the bill to TikTok ban the Chinese application is passed. This is making Americans worry for their lives.

The bill, called Protecting Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act, was passed on Wednesday in the House and received 352 affirmative votes and 65 representatives objecting.

Americans are in a state of panic, not knowing what will happen to the app, to their and the fate of their TikTok career.

The TikTok Ban

The European Commission and NATO have acted and banned the use of TikTok on their corporate phones, just like any federal government across the globe has done. Bans on TikTok have been increasing on a global scale. The TikTok ban in the US is not the first ban that the application has been facing. TikTok has been banned from several countries such as Canada, India, Jordan, Belgium, Australia, and the list goes on.

The common ground cybersecurity that the mother company ByteDance is not meeting the guidelines for, apparently.

What’s The Alternative at This Point?

TikTok is considered to be one of the most popular social media platforms to ever exist. But there is way around the ban, an alternative way of using the application. It’s a virtual private network (VPN).

A VPN creates a digital connection between the devices and a remote server which is owned by a VPN provider. This creates a point-to-point tunnel which allows for the encryption of your personal data and hides your IP address. The point behind the VPN is to ensure your online experiences are protected, private, and secure.

One needs a reliable VPN to bypass restrictions on a certain application. Now that TikTok is on the way to being banned in the US, will VPN services spike? VPNs are the safest alternative for people to access TikTok. Will the ban in the United States resort the public to use VPNs, or will the bill take this into consideration as well?
