Apple leaks have had a busy week with notable updates and various announcements. From Q3 earnings to new tech advancements.

Apple leaks have had a busy week with notable updates and various announcements. From Q3 earnings to new tech advancements, here’s a look at the major discussions around Apple in the past seven days.

Q3 Earnings, iPad Success

Apple’s third-quarter financial results were released, showing mixed performance across its product lines. While iPhone revenue dipped slightly, and Mac revenue saw a small rise, the iPad stood out with a 24% increase year-on-year. This significant growth in iPad sales helped boost overall revenue by 5%.

“Overall, the iPhone business fell slightly from $39.67 billion in the same quarter last year to $39.30 this year. As a percent of total sales, the iPhone accounts for its lowest portion amongst the company’s other products and services in almost four years. So how did the company still achieve 5 percent overall in overall revenue? That was driven in no small part by substantial gains in both services and iPad revenue,” according to Forbes.

Apple Leaks New iPhone 16

Exclusive shots of the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro have also surfaced pr Apple leaks, giving a glimpse of what to expect in terms of its new camera layout, capture buttons, and color options that make up the new generation. The new models reportedly come with some advanced features like faster processors and better Wi-Fi. This was big news for a day full of Apple leaks.

Three colors are shown, and quite frankly, they’re best described as the classics that align with last year’s White Titanium, Black Titanium, and Natural Titanium. There was also a Blue Titanium color variant in 2023; that isn’t captured in the photos Dickson provided, but I would be expecting new colors to help drive sales based on people looking to be fashionable.

Apple Intelligence was touted by Tim Cook during the recent earnings call as something that would drive iPhone upgrades. Now, the new AI features are being opened to developers in the US, with wider rollouts expected later.

The new iPhone 16 Pro models will pack Wi-Fi 7 for faster connections and lower latency. But Wi-Fi 7 networks are few.

MacBook Pro Updates

The latest update of macOS supports multiple displays with the new models of the MacBook Pro that come equipped with M3 chips, improving the facility of multitasking.

“Despite rocking the same chip, the base M3 MacBook Pro didn’t have this capability. The company told 9to5Mac back in March that a future software update would also enable M3 MacBook Pro owners to connect two external monitors simultaneously, and that is what happened today,” 9to5Mac wrote.

Chinese Hurdles

Apple’s market share has subsequently fallen and is now out of the top five manufacturers in China. Even with the Apple leaks that are taking place. Localization of Apple Intelligence services in China is perceived as being important to regain the lost market position.

“Apple’s market share has been shrinking in China, down to 14% in second quarter compared with 15% in the first quarter and 16% a year earlier. It is the first quarter in history that domestic vendors dominate all the top five positions,” said Canalys research analyst, Lucas Zhong.

Though highly anticipated, the Vision Pro headset has continued to struggle, most especially in third-party app development, with claims that the hardware is hard to work with and there has been very little support coming from Apple.

“Two other sources told us that they had been approached by Apple to make a Vision Pro game but were offered no compensation to make the title, and no guarantees it would be promoted or marketed in any way. Unlike Meta, which funds a lot of VR development, Apple offers indies no financial incentives at all to develop for Vision Pro – an approach a source described as ‘utterly baffling’,” reported Mobile Gamer.

Final Thoughts

Apple’s ability to keep innovating and launching new products testifies to the fact that it will never give up on striving for a leadership position within the technology world.

Behind this obvious strategic focus, growth in iPad sales and improvements in both AI and connectivity in new iPhone models were major contributors to its bottom line. Major challenges include wrestling greater market share from China and third-party development for Vision Pro.

Amidst these complexities, navigation, adaptability, and innovativeness are going to be deeply required if Apple leaks are going to have sustained success.
