Groundbreaking Desalination Tech to Be Unveiled

Three Eastern European companies developed a novel water purification technology that depends heavily on recycled materials, particularly banners.

According to people familiar with the project, this groundbreaking zero-emissions technology will bring water to the places that need it most.

Project spokesman Endre Kodolányi says that “the initiative is based on modular technology, similar to the use of solar panels, and desalination modules can be established within the system, relying on the expected levels of production.”

Kodolányi also designates Business Rally Hungary Kft., one of the three firms involved in the project.

Two other Eastern European tech firms – Slovakia’s Artbasic S.R.O and Hungary’s Egriwerk Ltd. – are also concerned about the climate-friendly endeavor. The project’s top ambition, according to Kodolányi, “is striking a balance between cost-effectiveness and environmental awareness.”

More and more parts of the world encounter the specter of drought. At the same time, climate experts note that the ongoing process of global warming left a robust number of agricultural areas and cities, along with multiple households, without sufficient water

“The initiative is based on modular technology, equivalent to the use of solar panels,” project spokesman Endre Kodolányi explains.

“Desalination modules can be established within the system, depending on the desired levels of production,” Kodolányi also noted. He also represents Business Rally Hungary Kft., one of the three firms concerned in the project.

It is worth mentioning that two other Eastern European tech firms – Hungary’s Egriwerk Ltd. and Slovakia’s Artbasic S.R.O. – are also concerned with the climate-friendly initiative. The spokesperson added, “is striking a balance between cost-effectiveness and environmental awareness.”

In addition, the three companies will showcase their pioneering technology at the Dubai World Expo’s upcoming “Water Week” (at the Hungarian Pavilion), which will be held from March 20 to 26. The event is anticipated to attract many delegations, including many potential investors, from the world.

“We’re hoping the exposure we get at the Dubai World Expo will help us get the technology up and running as soon as possible,” Kodolányi says. “In light of the dangers posed by global warming, time is of the utmost importance.”

Late last year, the UAE announced the development of three new water desalination projects to help boost sustainability and achieve water security goals.

The projects will improve the established water desalination capacity of the Arab world’s second-largest economy to 1,590 million imperial gallons per day. And once designated in 2023, it will help the country beat the challenges of water scarcity in the future under its UAE Water Security Strategy 2036, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Suhail Al Mazrouei said.

“Water is an important pillar of sustainability, which makes it a strategic primacy of the Emirates where we find three desalination plants that will be commissioned by 2023,” Al Mazrouei added.
