i3forum Insights Expands Its Data Sets to Give International Carriers a 360 View of the Voice Market
i3forum, a not-for-profit industry body enabling and accelerating transformation across the carrier ecosystem, has added direct traffic data to i3forum Insights, its comprehensive market database for international voice services. The feature will enable international carriers to plan, optimise and benchmark their voice businesses with access to both wholesale and bilateral traffic data.
The addition of direct traffic data to the database enables carriers to perform market analysis on each type of traffic as well as total voice traffic. i3forum Insights has become an integral part of many operational processes and is used on a daily basis by Tier 1 international voice carriers to refine their market analysis and drive their strategy. i3forum Insights is a not-for-profit service, tracking core KPIs including geographic data, termination type, traffic and revenue data, and quality data.
“We’re seeing a growing number of carriers and users utilising i3forum Insights, and we’re continually evolving the platform to serve more of their needs,” said Philippe Millet, Chairman of i3forum. “We’re pleased to have added direct traffic data to the database, so that participating carriers can benefit from an even wider pool of data, insights and intelligence. Through collaboration, carriers can really boost their operations and take their business to another level.”
Since its launch in January 2020, i3forum Insights has gained traction among participating carriers with over 120 users from 9 carriers. Contributors to i3forum Insights include BICS, BTS, iBasis, Orange, PCCW Global, Tata Communications, Sparkle, Telefónica International Wholesale Services, and Telstra. The database provides participating carriers with new visibility, insights and data from across the industry, with intelligence on more than 17,400 destinations.
“i3forum Insights is designed and managed by i3forum members, so the features and capabilities are based on what real carriers need for their businesses,” said Millet. “It’s a great resource to gain crucial insights into market trends, and use that intelligence to improve strategy and better serve customers. All carriers are welcome to join, and the more carriers that participate, the more powerful the database will become.”
Participating carriers upload their voice traffic data into the system, where it is fully anonymised and 100% confidential. The data is then shared across the database, where users can check data from other anonymous participants and create custom reports. The platform is operated by TeleGeography, experts in managing large data sets in the carrier industry.
