Meta AI to Soon Retain User Information on WhatsApp: Report
On October 25, Meta Platforms was found developing the WhatsApp Memory feature for Meta AI, allowing the chatbot to remember user preferences and interaction history, for more tailored responses.
Meta’s WhatsApp Memory feature is still in its development phase. Once finalized it will Meta AI on WhatsApp to tailor users’ responses to their preferences and interaction history. The new feature can be found in WhatsApp Beta for Android 2.24.22.9 update, available on the Google Play Store, and set for launch in a future update.
What Is Meta AI in WhatsApp?
The “chat memory” feature in Meta AI on WhatsApp will give the company the ability to automatically remember certain pieces of information users give through a conversation, such as personal preferences or interests.
This will grant Meta AI the capability to make responses a little more personalized and relevant, smoothing out and making it more instinctive to interact with a chatbot. For example, it remembers your favorite food, the style you like a conversation to be in, or anything about hobbies, and then it can have more relevant responses.
According to the WABetainfo, a new section added to the Meta AI contact card on WhatsApp will be titled “Memory.”
The Meta AI WhatsApp feature allows users to update or delete certain info. Users will also be able to ask Meta AI to remember information by stating, “remember this.” In that respect, users would have complete control over what Meta AI would remember and would be able at any time to adjust or removals as they saw fit.
Personalization and User Control
The new Meta AI for WhatsApp feature makes conversations feel more natural. Responses from the chatbot will be kept aligned with the preference of the user.
On the other hand, the AI remembers particular information so that interactions get improved, and users get satisfied.
The WhatsApp Memory feature gives users full control over their data by giving them the ability to edit or delete what at any given time Meta AI remembers, having full control over their data. This means two of the main focuses that Meta has taken are improving user experience and providing controls over one’s personal information. Once fully developed, this feature will likely make interactions with AI a lot more personalized and redefine how users use Meta AI in WhatsApp, making interactions more personalized and user-friendly and changing their interaction with Meta AI on the platform.
