Nintendo Switch 2 to Launch in Early 2025

According to a new set of leaks, the wait for the Nintendo Switch 2 device might be longer than some expect.

According to a new set of leaks, the wait for the Nintendo Switch 2 device might be longer than some expect. Several sources mentioned that Nintendo has decided to postpone the launch of the handheld gaming device, Switch 2, to the beginning of 2025.

The first to indicate that the Switch 2 gaming device would not launch in 2024 was the PH account on the X platform, which confirmed at the same time that the launch was postponed to the beginning of 2025.

This account is an important source for leaks related to the Switch 2 gaming device and has covered much of Nintendo’s product news in previous years.

This account mentioned that it had contacted five reliable sources, which in turn confirmed that the launch time of the Switch 2 gaming device would not be this year but would be at the beginning of 2025.

Trusted journalist Andy Robinson from Video Games Chronicle, citing multiple sources, reported that Nintendo had recently contacted video game publishers to inform them of the postponement of the Switch 2 gaming device launch to the first quarter of 2025. One source mentioned that the delay is due to Nintendo’s desire to provide a strong lineup of games before the official launch.

Bloomberg, which also confirmed these leaks, specified the launch time of the Nintendo Switch 2 gaming device in March 2025. Interestingly, the original Switch device was also launched on March 3, 2017, and not during the holiday season.

Informed sources also indicate that the Switch device will only receive secondary games this year, as Nintendo’s role will be to clear out the inventory of Switch devices entirely, preparing for a strong launch of the Switch 2 device in 2025.
