OpenAI is launching a new service that allows users to create their own ChatGPT-powered custom chatbots, and it will have it’s own GPT app store.
They’re called GPTs, modified for specific tasks or industries and are shareable with others via an upcoming app store.
Better to Not Know Coding?
This is an amazing step to make it more accessible to businesses and individuals. It allows users to create their own chatbots without even knowing a single coding equation, making it relevant to everyday life.
The GPT app store is expected to launch next month and will feature a variety of GPTs for different purposes.
“Eventually, you’ll have your personalized GPTs that can call out to lots of other GPTs,” Altman said. “You’ll be able to accomplish very complex things by bringing different services together.”
There are a few possible applications for GPTs, which may include the following:
Customer support chatbots Sales and promotional chatbots Educational virtual assistants Personal aide chatbots So, you don’t need to know how to program to make a new GPT. You simply feed it with plain-language instructions, like uploading some of your knowledge in different forms, such as PDFs, videos, or other files.
Curious? If you’re curious enough, you can try out OpenAI’s GPT technology on their website! The interface guides you through the necessary steps, asking what you want the tool to do, requesting files for upload, and prompting for a name.
According to OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, GPTs have the potential to change the way we engage with computers. He has compared GPTs to the iPhone, which he believes democratized cellphones and made them accessible to the public.
It remains to be seen whether GPTs will be as popular as the iPhone, but OpenAI’s action represents an important step forward in the development of intelligent tech. By making AI more accessible and user-friendly, OpenAI is paving the road for a future in which AI is interwoven into our daily lives.
