The iconic American actress, Marilyn Monroe, was revived 62 years after her death. She was revived through a super-realistic biological AI generated virtual persona.

The digital version of the actress allows her fans interact with their idol, with Marlyn Monroe responding to inquiries by her distinctive voice and manner, as stated by the project’s developers.

The AI tech company, Soul Machines, introduced the project entitled “Digital Marlyn”, an engaging involvement that allows users to connect with an avatar of Marilyn Monroe. This AI-generated chatbot can share stories and provide customized greetings, offering a special experience for fans of the iconic actress.

Monroe’s virtual version can understand users’ emotions and adjust her responses using Soul Machine’s specialized camera and microphone technology. The company emphasizes that each interaction is exceptional, as Digital Marilyn probes user choices to alter her answers, creating a personalized connection. Soul Machines states that approximately, interactions with its digital persona are of 20 minutes.

The company also claims that Digital Marilyn’s AI capabilities allow her to engage in natural and fluid conversations, adapting to users’ questions and interests in real-time. This technology, which simulates the neural system, enables Digital Marilyn to respond with realistic emotions and nuanced expressions, enhancing the overall experience and making it more special and impressive.

Indeed, this latest endeavor is a component of a series of recent generative AI initiatives showcasing deceased celebrities. As an example, there is an animated biographical film of Edith Piaf, the French icon, that uses AI to replicate her vocal sound and picture.

Similarly, the Calm app has introduced an AI generated voice version of Jimmy Stewart that can read bedtime stories.

The project seeks to showcase how AI can transform the connection between brands and consumers.

Hence, Greg Cross, CEO and co-founder of Soul Machines, highlighted that Digital Marilyn demonstrates their Biological AI, which breathes life into an iconic personality through engaging conversations and emotional intelligence.

The Marilyn Monroe generative-AI chatbot is developed in collaboration with Authentic Brand Groups, which holds the rights to the icon’s image and representation.

“Marilyn Monroe remains a timeless icon, inspiring generations with her talent, charisma, and enduring legacy”, said Dana Carpenter, EVP of entertainment at Authentic.

She added: “We are excited to partner with Soul Machines, whose innovative technology is the perfect fit to bring Marilyn to life in the AI era. While Marilyn Monroe can never be replaced or duplicated, Digital Marilyn offers exciting possibilities for multiple generations of fans to interact with her in a completely new way, fostering a deeper connection and appreciation for her lasting impact and the legacy she left behind”.
