No Need to Fear Mobile Phones Cancer Threat, WHO Says

The World health organization stated that researchers have found no significant link between mobile phones and brain cancer

The World health organization stated that researchers have found no significant link between mobile phones and brain cancer, and study showed no evidence that supports claims that long mobile usage generates possible risk on mobile phones cancer development.

A Relief for Mobile Users

On Wednesday, a study about cancer risk from cell phones was published, bringing relief to almost all phone users. The study led by the Australian Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety (Arpansa) that was based on extensive research and valuable data found no credible evidence that mobile phones cause brain cancer or other head and neck cancers despite the huge rise in the use of wireless technology

“We concluded the evidence does not show a link between mobile phones and brain cancer or other head and neck cancers.”

“The most comprehensive review to date” said the review led author, associate prof Ken Karipidis, stating that the final analysis included 63 observational studies in humans published between 1994 and 2022.

Researchers looked at cancers of the brain in adults and children, as well as cancer of pituitary gland, salivary glands and leukemia, in addition to risks linked to mobile phone use, transmitters, as well as occupational exposure, according to professor of cancer epidemiology at the University of Auckland, none of the major questions studied showed increased phones cancer risk, and electromagnetic radiant cancer are not likely to happen.

The world health organization in addition to other international health bodies have said previously there is no definitive evidence of mobile phones cancer, then called for more research. However, Mobile phones use wireless technology that transmit radio-frequency electromagnetic radiation, also known as radio waves, researchers said that there is no need to be afraid from electromagnetic radiant cancer because the radiation is not like nuclear radiation.

“And because we use a mobile phone close to the head when we’re making calls, there is a lot of concern, while exposure from mobile phones is still low, it is much higher than exposure from any other wireless technology sources sincephones are used close to the head” Karipidis said.

This study on mobile phones and brain cancer reassures people that fear the possibility of mobile phones cancer, and as technology advances, clarity will be important for ensuring ongoing confidence in technology devices.

Final Thoughts on Technology Advancement

Being in this generation means being aware of all technological developments and their risks, technology users should be up to date on everything happening around them. The following study highlights the importance of knowing multiple types of radiation emitted from different devices to be aware of the risks and prevent unreal assumptions like the mobile phones cancer one.

And as technology becomes a vital part of our lives, having a full understanding of technology aspects is crucial in order to maintain public confidence and ensure the benefits of new technologies are being properly used or else they will be stuck in the dilemma of fake news forever.
