YouTube Leveling Up Content Creation with AI YouTube Shorts

YouTube introduces AI tools for creators' content. Enhance your AI YouTube Shorts with generative backgrounds and AI-driven videos.

At the “Made on YouTube” event in New York on Wednesday, YouTube introduced new AI tools designed to enhance creativity. These tools include generative backgrounds for AI YouTube Shorts and AI-driven video suggestions to assist creators in producing content.

YouTube has been experimenting with AI tools for content creators, starting with the introduction of “Dream Screen” last year, which enables creators to generate AI-powered backgrounds for YouTube Shorts. According to YouTube’s Chief Product Officer, Johanna Voolich, this is just the beginning of YouTube’s AI-driven innovations.

“It’s already in the hands of millions of people around the world, but we’re just scratching the surface of what’s to come,” Voolich wrote in a blogpost

New AI Features

Later this year, YouTube will roll out additional AI YouTube shorts features, including Veo, an AI video model from DeepMind. Veo will be integrated into YouTube Shorts, making video creation more dynamic and allowing creators to instantly bring creative ideas to life. With AI for YouTube Shorts, creators can transport themselves into fictional worlds or generate original designs in real time to share with their audience.

Along with backgrounds, Veo will also enable creators to make separate, short 6-second video clips. Meanwhile, YouTube will ensure that AI-generated content is watermarked and labeled with SynthID to make it identifiable for viewers as AI-generated

Generative YouTube Studio App

YouTube also announced the introduction of generative AI within the YouTube Studio app. Through the new Inspiration Tab, creators will receive personalized recommendations for video ideas, title suggestions, and even outlines for thumbnails, streamlining the content creation process.

YouTube wants this to function almost as a “brainstorming buddy” for creators who need inspiration. And by 2025, it will make it possible for creators to have that tab right from key areas such as top comments and other popular videos.

YouTube is also improving its automatic dubbing capabilities, allowing creators to produce audio tracks in multiple languages. Currently, the Google owned platform supports dubbing in Spanish, Portuguese, French, and Italian, with plans to expand this feature to more languages in the future.

A more advanced version of YouTube’s automatic dubbing tool, currently in beta, will retain the original tone and atmosphere of videos, making the playback more natural.

YouTube is introducing AI-powered voice features for Shorts to enhance audio quality. With these AI tools, the Google-owned company aims to develop its own AI YouTube generator, reducing the need for third-party apps.

Watch Series on TV Apps

YouTube’s TV apps now enable creators to organize their content into seasons and episodes, similar to other streaming platforms. This structured approach allows for easier navigation, making it simpler for viewers to follow series-like content.

In addition to new content organization features, YouTube is further pushing its focus on the user experience on TV screens by offering more immersive video options and streamlining subscription processes, making it easier for users to engage with content directly from their TVs.

These updates underscore how YouTube supports such a large creator community while embracing some of the latest developments in AI and integrating AI tools for YouTube creators, AI YouTube shorts, and AI voice for YouTube shorts.
