1. Astra Personal Assistance 

Project Astra was the highlight of Google I/O 2025, an AI assistant that transforms how daily tasks get managed and powered by Google’s DeepMind. It interacts through voice and other inputs, facilitating work. In the demo, Astra helped a user repair a bike by finding tutorials, checking emails, and even calling a local shop for parts. 

Demis Hassabis, CEO of Google DeepMind, mentioned Astra’s goal is to integrate its capabilities into Gemini, making it a proactive assistant that helps users accomplish tasks efficiently.  

“This starts with the capabilities we first explored last year in our research prototype Project Astra, such as video understanding, screen sharing, and memory,” Hassabis said.

2. Google I/O 2025 to Showcase Advancements in Gemini AI 

The Gemini chatbot is coming to Chrome, introducing a new way to interact with the web. Gemini AI will help with content summaries, detail clarification, and information retrieve from past browsing sessions using voice commands.  

Gemini is available now for Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers and brings smarter browsing and better productivity features. It will streamline browsing by allowing users to ask questions or get page summaries without switching tabs.  

3. Project Mariner, Shopping Assistant 

Project Mariner is Google Chrome’s new smart assistant, exclusive to Google AI Ultra subscribers. Designed as a personal shopping buddy, Mariner actively browse the web, research products, book flights, and make purchases on your behalf – with your permission.

4. Google I/O Recap Filmmaking Tools 

Google’s content creation tools are no longer basic with the new upgrades, Imagen and Veo. Imagen now has 2K resolution and better texture rendering, making generated images more realistic. Built into Google Workspace, users can create images directly in documents or presentations.  
For video creators, Veo 3 provides video generation tools to produce realistic, lifelike graphics. These tools will benefit creators by providing advanced AI features to generate high-quality content more effectively. 

5. Real-Time Speech Translation 

Real-time voice translation is a reality now with the latest Google Meet feature that took place at Google’s I/O developer conference which facilitates conversations and communications. The current beta version supports English-to-Spanish translation and is available with a Google AI Pro subscription.
