Au Revoir, Adios, to Your Translator When Samsung Launches Its Galaxy AI

Samsung has disclosed new details about Galaxy AI, an innovative feature that blends cloud-based and on-device capabilities crafted by Samsung.

The South Korean giant has announced this novel feature, which utilizes artificial intelligence to translate phone calls in real time. Dubbed as “a new era of Galaxy AI,” this technology is set to arrive on Samsung smartphones, as shared in a blog post.

“Galaxy AI is a comprehensive mobile AI experience, powered by both on-device AI developed at Samsung and cloud-based AI enabled by our open collaborations with like-minded industry leaders,” Samsung stated in a post.

“It will transform your everyday mobile experience with the peace of mind you count on from Galaxy security and privacy.,” the post added.

The live feature of Samsung will be called “AI Live Translate Call” by the company. This feature will be built on the native phone app of the company. Samsung has confirmed that the translations will be proceeded directly on the device and “text and audio translations will appear in real-time as you speak.”

Galaxy’s AI will be launching “early next year” according to the electronics manufacturer.

The Galaxy S24 lineup from Samsung is set to feature the latest in Galaxy AI technology. It has been reported that Samsung introduced its generative AI model, named Gauss, at a recent event. This suggests that Gauss will be a key element in the Galaxy S24 series, likely powering a range of features on these smartphones from next year onwards.

AI-powered features are entering the scene as the next competitive frontier for smartphone manufacturers.

Let’s take Google’s Pixel 8 lineup as an example.

The Pixel 8 series provides a suite of AI-powered tools designed to enhance your photo editing experience.

On the other side of the table, it is reported that Apple is investing a significant amount of Money in AI training, on a daily basis. So, we have no doubt that some AI-powered iPhone features will result from this investment.

AI-focused hardware products, such as Humane’s cellular-enabled AI Pin, are poised to present new challenges to smartphone manufacturers. This product, which has been previewed in an exclusive leak before its launch on Thursday, represents a shift towards specialized AI hardware that could disrupt the current smartphone market.

Samsung is getting on board to emphasize its consideration for AI, too. We don’t know about you, but we are excited to use it. Are you?
