Apple’s iOS 18 Hidden Features for Simplified Navigation 

AApple launched its latest OS, along with iOS 18 hidden features to customize, improve messaging, and streamlining user experience.

On September 16, Apple launched its latest operating system (OS), along with iOS 18 hidden features to enhance customization, improve messaging, and streamlining user experience across the apps. 

There’s a lot of other simple hidden iOS 18 features that might be also useful for users. Here’s a look at the latest updates’ features: 

  • Simplified Settings 

Settings just got a little easier to navigate. Rather than listing all the apps on the main page, Apple has given a separate menu to Apps now. This cleans things up and makes for easier finding of controls for apps. 

  • IOS 18 Photos app 

In the latest iOS 18 update, the IOS 18 Photos app brings a cleaner way to view your library. Users can now hide screenshots and explore new documents and QR code categories under Utilities. It will also suggest photos for wallpapers, automatically organize travel photos, and allow users to copy edits across multiple photos. 

  • Camera Enhancements 

For the OS 18 camera, users will no longer have to stop listening to music when using Bluetooth devices to take photos or shoot videos. The Camera application also introduces a new 5-second timer, as well as the existing options for three and ten seconds. 

  • IOS 18 Control Center 

Among iOS 18 hidden features, users can now customize iOS 18 Control Center with widgets and buttons, with one placed on the right of the phone, making it easier to turn the device off. 

  • IOS 18 Satellite Messaging 

The iOS 18 message enables users to   schedule their texts. Users will be able to send images in full resolution, apply animated text effects, and even communicate with each other via iOS 18 satellite messaging when there’s no signal. 

  • IOS 18 Safari Features 

Along with iOS 18 hidden features, Apple has also added an update for iOS 18 safari features making websites free from clutter. Though not an ad-blocker, it will let users eliminate the distractions caused by elements such as sign-up forms.  

  • IOS 18 Weather App 

The “Feels Like” temperature in the Weather app now is simply visible right along with the temperature. It has also added wind direction with detail and the capability of adding Home and Work addresses through contacts. 

  • Podcasts 

One of the more significant features made to Podcasts app is that users can jump into specific chapters in episodes, reorder the queue, and even share transcripts. 

  • The Notes App  

The Notes app has added folding sections in notes so that users can organize their notes better. They can record audio directly in the notes and search PDFs inline. Both Notes and Calculator now let users solve math equations. 

  • Enhanced Mail Management 

The Mail app has given an ability to group emails from the same sender for more effective management of messages. New categories automatically help users organize important emails, such as order confirmations and newsletters. 

  • Utilities and Keyboard Enhancements 

The keyboard now supports multiple languages, and there’s a unified emoji and sticker picker.  

The Calculator app can now evaluate expressions and graph them, and remote tech support is easier with new permissions. 

  • Journal  

The new Journal app asks users to share their feelings and thoughts. It also includes features like audio transcription and the ability to set reminders to write regularly. 

  • Changes with Calendar and Reminders 

The calendar now shows timed reminders, and it’s easy to glance through schedules.  

  • Files and Storage Management 

The Files app lets users keep some iCloud files always downloaded on the device. It supports a lot more file formats than before, and it eases management of external drives. 

  • Apple TV Improvements 

The Apple TV app has an InSight feature that will provide information on actors and music in the shows. A new enhancement for dialogues improves audio for loud scenes. 

  • Smart Home and Accessibility Features 

iOS 18 hidden features updates included also the Home app allowing it to include hands-free unlocking of connected doors, while users can give guests access on a time-limited basis. 

iOS 18 accessibility features introduced eye tracking to control the phone interface and motion cues that help users manage motion sickness.
