Claude 3 Surpassing Gemini, ChatGPT
Anthropic has announced its new AI model Claude 3, in an effort to compete with OpenAI’s GPT and Google’s Gemini, claiming this model has capabilities that may surpass its rivals.
Claude 3 is a multimodal that understands both texts and images inputs. Compared to previous models, this new AI chatbot has a greater ability to answer more questions and understand long instructions more accurately.
Additionally, Claude 3 can also better the context of the questions, in a way that enables it to provide users with more information.
The U.S. AI startup company offers three large language models, which are Haiku, Sonnet, and Opus
According to the company, Haiku is the smallest version of Claude 3, being the fastest and most cost-effective model on the market.” It is claimed to be able to read a dense research paper containing charts and graphs in less than three seconds.
As for Opus, it is the most intelligent and advanced version. Anthropic claims that it outperforms competing models in many benchmark tests, including Google’s Gemini 1.0 and OpenAI’s GPT-4. It has also shown better performance in answering math questions and understanding logic.
Conversely, Sonnet stands as the intermediate option, offering double the speed of both Claude 2 and Claude 2.1. The company notes that it excels in tasks that demand rapid responses, like retrieving information or automating sales processes.
Anthropic developed Claude 3 using a blend of proprietary, external, and publicly accessible data up to August 2023, utilizing the computational resources of Amazon and Google’s cloud services.
Opus and Sonnet are now available on claude.ai, the company’s official website, and its application programming interface (API), while the Haiku version will be launched soon.
