New iPhone 16e Deliver AI, Affordability to Compete Samsung and Google

On 19 February, Apple unmasked its latest addition, the iPhone 16e, an upgrade to the aging iPhone SE, offering a more affordable alternative to flagship devices.

Priced at $599, the iPhone 16e is cheaper than other iPhones and more affordable than flagships like the Samsung Galaxy S25 and Google Pixel 9, while offering 90% of the iPhone 16’s standard features.

iPhone 16e is a good alternative option for clients seeking an accessible, budget-friendly phone with a modern twist and AI capabilities.

iPhone 16e AI Features

The iPhone 16e has several significant upgrades. Apple has finally dropped the Home Button and rounded bezel for a newer, edge-to-edge screen with a notch. While the removal of the Home Button may be disappointing to some, the redesign is an upgrade for a more contemporary look.

Like most budget-friendly phones, there are some sacrifices. The iPhone 16e only comes with one wide-angle rear camera and 2x optical zoom, not a multi-camera array on more expensive iPhone models. Also, iPhone 16e MagSafe compatibility charging is not present either, though third-party accessories will be replacing it soon after the release of the phone.

What sets the iPhone 16e apart from other SE series is its AI integration, powered by the A18 processor, including AI apps like ChatGPT and Apple’s version of Google Lens. The new Action Button allows users to instantly access the iPhone 16e AI photography by pointing the camera at objects or asking Siri for real-time information.

iPhone 16e A18 chip integrations features a 4-core GPU instead of the 5-core GPU included in the usual iPhone 16. Such a thing can reduce graphics performance, but the phone offers incredible power for the price that can cover the missing qualities.

The iPhone 16e brings high-end AI features to a budget device, including Clean Up feature for photo enhancement and Image Playground for AI art. Unlike other phones requiring third-party apps, these tools are built-in to make the iPhone 16e a leader in the affordable smartphone market.

iPhone 16e Vs Pixel 9a

The iPhone 16e is competing with upcoming devices like the Google Pixel 9a, which will be priced at $499, less than the price of the iPhone 16e. The Pixel 9a is rumored to feature Google’s Tensor G4 chip but may lack the same level of AI integration.

In parallel, the Samsung Galaxy S25 FE, priced at $649, will feature a MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chip – weaker than the Snapdragon 8 Elite in the standard Galaxy S25.

With AI capabilities, a modern design, and strong performance, the iPhone 16e review was relatively positive. While the Pixel 9a is cheaper, and the Galaxy S25 FE gets a little extra hype, the iPhone 16e price and specs make it a top contender for users seeking a well-rounded budget phone.
