Moroccan Scientist Obtains Patent for Fast Lithium Battery Charger

Scientist specialized in lithium batteries, Rachid Yazami, has obtained a patent for a fast-charging technology for lithium batteries.

Moroccan scientist specialized in lithium batteries, Rachid Yazami, has obtained a patent for a fast-charging technology for lithium batteries.

According to “SNRT News,” Yazami received the patent from the Japanese Patent Office on Wednesday. The site explained that the patent granted to the Moroccan scientist relates to faster charging of lithium batteries, using “non-linear voltage” technology utilized in electronic devices or electric vehicles.

Rachid Yazami told Moroccan state television in September 2022 that recent experiments led by him and his team achieved charging a lithium battery in just 5 minutes.

This duration is 17% less than the previous timing recorded by the same scientist nearly a year ago when he achieved a 6-minute charging time.

Yazami explained that the latest research broke the record in charging after the experiments succeeded in fast-charging technology in a lithium battery in 5 minutes. He confirmed that the new charging technology is suitable for all lithium batteries, from smartphone batteries to Tesla car batteries.

Yazami was born in the city of Fez (north) in 1953, where he received his primary and secondary education. He began his university education at Mohammed V University in the capital, Rabat, before leaving for France in 1972.
