There is an agreement that critical qualities of successful schooling are different from what they were with traditional education, with telecommunication playing an important role in shifting the tides. It is an essential component of our society that helped make the world a global village, with 98 percent of the world under its network coverage.
The role of telecommunication in education can be seen as early as when students only attended school during regular school hours. However, with the development and introduction of telecommunication, things have changed remarkably.
The internet, which is a part of the telecommunication service, allows students to enjoy what is known as e-learning or distance learning. This process permits students to aim for higher education in their preferred courses. Almost all types of methods are available in those distance learning institutions, and they have lecturers who give notes and classes to their students, just like how it happens in brick-and-mortar schools.
Many benefits are included, with important procedures being done more efficiently as far as distance learning is concerned. The only telecommunication product required is a computer connected to the internet. Afterward, the students can start with their course study.
In addition, students have the choice not to leave their homes in order to attend any course or institution; instead, those institutions use telecommunication to offer several courses that students can join from their own homes. This helps them save a lot of money that would otherwise be spent on hostel rooms, airfare, and other charges.
Telecommunications technologies have a critical role in learning new possibilities in classrooms and leading to the professional development of teachers. Considerable investment and attention are now referred to as bringing classrooms “online.” By providing schools with pipelines that allow students to draw in distant information and interact with experts and students worldwide, the problem of resource intensity in these new classrooms might be solved.
In a nationwide survey conducted by the Center for Technology in Education, teachers register many benefits of using telecommunications technology with their students. These include accessing information that would otherwise be hard to acquire, boosting students’ awareness of the world, and improving inquiry-based and analytical skills.
Teachers also report many factors that impact the success of student-based telecommunications activities. When teachers use networks to bring about classroom exchange projects, participating teachers’ progressive planning and full cooperation are considered critical to the project’s success. The content and scope of the activity need to be well defined, as do objectives and project goals. And, as with any technology project designed to support and improve student learning, the relevancy of the telecommunications activity to the teacher’s ongoing curriculum is essential.
Education changed dramatically in the past three years, with the pandemic drastically resulting in a profound impact on the education process that people get, especially kids. The concept of education deteriorated because of the new emerging technologies, which were considered communication barriers, and why people need to learn about them.
