Google Brings AI To Chrome

With the release of Chrome, Google added new AI features such as typing assistant to the browser with the goal of improving user convenience.

With the release of Chrome M121, Google added new AI features such as typing assistant to the browser with the goal of improving user convenience. The most recent additions are Tabs, a text composition typing assistant, and browser-based customization options for themes and artwork.

To access these new features, users can navigate to the AI pilot in the settings by clicking on the three-point drop-down list. One notable addition is the “Organize Similar Tabs” feature, streamlining tab management. Utilizing AI, this feature automatically suggests ways to categorize open tabs and create groups, particularly beneficial for users with numerous open tabs. For instance, tabs related to shopping can be grouped together, with AI typing assistant assigning a relevant title like “Ski Trip Shopping Equipment.”

The option to preview built-in tabs allows users to make adjustments, such as removing links or customizing groups. Google plans to incorporate the “Help me write” tool, already present in Gmail and Google Docs Editor, as an experimental feature in Chrome. This tool aids users in drafting text, providing suggestions for sentence completion or text continuation when the user activates “help me write.”

While the ability to customize browser themes is not novel, Google employs AI capabilities to introduce the “Create with AI” feature. Users can now personalize the browser’s visuals, extending the concept from AI backgrounds designed for Pixel phones. By searching for a description like “small beach city,” users can explore AI-generated theme options, allowing for quick creation based on preferred themes, moods, visual styles, and colors.
