Welcoming the New Galaxy AI Assistant
The event spotlighted the anticipated Galaxy AI Assistant, a mix of on-device and cloud-based AI, signaling Samsung’s commitment to advancing user interaction with smart devices.
- The Live Interpreter
A standout feature is the live interpreter for calls, supporting 13 languages (with more to come). This AI-driven tool enables effortless communication across language barriers, directly through Samsung’s keyboard or during calls.
- Google’s AI: Gemini
Samsung’s collaboration with Google has led to the integration of the Big Tech giant’s Gemini AI model in the Galaxy S24 series, offering versatile functions such as creating photo-based stickers and efficient management of voice or text notes. Google’s android operating system (OS) has also evolved to detect AI-altered images, enhancing security and authenticity as digital media become more mainstream.

Perhaps the most exciting addition is the ‘Circle to Search’ feature, replacing the traditional Google voice assistant activation, and allowing users to search via Google Drive by circling an item on their screen. The world is shifting to a new form of media – fast media, and Samsung got everyone covered. The Korean giant decided to give the world AI in multimedia editing, alongside the introduction of the Generative Edit feature. This tool, based on Google’s Imagen 2 technology, facilitates natural editing of image elements, exemplifying the blend of AI and creativity.

The Galaxy S24 series takes camera functionality to new heights with AI integration, with smart cameras that are fully compatible with popular apps like Instagram and Snapchat, supporting HDR quality for photos and videos.
