Feeling Overwhelmed from Your Gmails? Gemini IS Ready to Assist You

Google AI Gmail was launched, allowing Android users to chat directly with Gemini about their emails in the app

On Thursday, a new feature, Google AI Gmail was launched, allowing Android users to chat directly with Gemini about their emails in the app.

What Can Google AI Gmail Do?

Google’s new Gmail Q&A feature allows users to access Google Gemini directly within the Gmail app, acting as a personal AI assistant that can read your entire email inbox.

That’s not a breach of privacy… not one bit.

To use the new Google AI Gmail feature, users can simply open their mail app on their Android devices and access it. The search engine parents shared that the feature will be available for iOS devices soon.

According to Google, users can ask Gemini to summarize emails with commands like “Catch me up on the emails about quarterly planning,” and Gemini will provide a quick summary.

Not only that, but now, users can also ask specific questions, such as “How much did the company spend on the last marketing event?”

Google smartly designed the Google AI Gmail feature to facilitate usage of its mail more user friendly. Usually, users would search for information by typing in the search bar at the top of the Gmail app, now, however, they have the option to press the Gemini button – to be added next to the search bar.

Despite the benefits of this tool, Google said that users may face some occasional Gemini hallucinations that could affect the accuracy of answers provided. This issue is not uncommon, even among AI models, so it’s advisable to verify the information given.

To access this feature, users must subscribe to Gemini or Google One AI Premium at a cost of 20$ per month. Subscribers can have access to Google AI Gmail by clicking the black start logo – represents Gemini across Google’s product suite,in the top-right corner.

Google has also indicated that it is unlikely to offer free access to the feature anytime soon.

By offering valuable AI-based features and integrating Gemini into Gmail, Google Docs, and Google Calendar, the Android parent seeks to make the subscription worthwhile for its userbase.
