AI, Robotics Shaped by Nvidia’s New Project Digits
Nvidia’s Project Digits introduces a compact personal AI supercomputer designed for researchers, data scientists, and students, powered by the chip giant’s GB10 Grace Blackwell Superchip.
Equipped with a Blackwell GPU and a 20-core Grace CPU, Nvidia’s new system delivers up to a petaflop of computing power, giving users the power to prototype and run AI models with up to 200 billion parameters, scalable to 405 billion with dual-unit configurations, all due to the AI supercomputer.
GPU Based Personal AI Supercomputer
The system features 128GB of memory and up to 4TB of flash storage, offering immense capacity for resource-intensive AI tasks. Nvidia Project Digits is a versatile computing platform running the full Nvidia AI stack, including the Linux-based DGX OS, connecting to both Windows and Mac PCs.
Linux-based DGX OS is the operating system design specifically for Nvidia’s DGX systems – powerful computer utilized for advanced AI tasks – combining the Linux OS with the chip giant’s software to optimize performance for training and running AI models.
“It’s a cloud computing platform that sits on your desk … It’s even a workstation, if you like it to be,” said Nvidia CEO, Jensen Huang.
It starts at $3,000, targets more developers, researchers, and students with high-performance AI, and can democratize access to the company’s most advanced Grace Blackwell Superchips.
Robotics with GR00T Blueprint
GR00T Blueprint is yet another breakthrough in Nvidia’s humanoid robotics efforts, that will fundamentally modify how robots learn and operate.
Using imitation learning, where robots mimic human actions, Blueprint is particularly effective in factory and warehouse settings, where humanoid robots are integral to automation.
With GR00T Blueprint, users can record human movements with the help of Apple’s Vision Pro and create a digital twin that the robot will be able to repeat in a simulated environment. This brings about very specific, real-time teleoperation of robots, enabling remote teaching for better training processes.
Nvidia New AI Supercomputer with GR00T Blueprint
While Nvidia Project Digits and GR00T Blueprint show different sides, they carry the same message, how big the role Nvidia is going to play in the future of AI and robotics. The personal AI supercomputer that runs an entire Nvidia AI stack is more accessible but powerful for AI development, while GR00T Blueprint brings humanoids closer to task execution with advanced training methods.
Together, both developments put into light how the Nvidia chips inside powerful AI supercomputers and GR00T Blueprint will push technology borders to enable a new wave of developers, researchers, and industries to truly realize the potential of AI and robotics.
The Nvidia Project Digits, or so-called personal AI supercomputer, brings powerful and available AI computing to developers, while GR00T Blueprint gives robotic learning a push towards learning through imitation. Combined together they highlight Nvidia’s role in innovations, empowering industries and developers to unlock new possibilities.
