Oppo and Vodafone announce new partnership to accelerate 5G adoption

Smartphones have been an integral part of our lives for two decades now, leading to the rise of many collaborative achievements between tech and telecom companies.

As such, most smartphone companies strive to present the latest technological offerings to the hyper-connected consumer, as their demand for more advanced features and more effective communication remains high. Undoubtedly, Apple, Samsung, Huawei and OPPO are leading the way in product innovation.

OPPO, is a Chinese leading manufacturer and innovator of smartphones and since the company’s establishment in 2004, has expanded its global footprint to over 40 countries and regions. It was also the top smartphone brand in China in 2019 and ranked No.5 in market share worldwide. It has an annual handset shipment of more than 100 million.

In addition, OPPO has more than 40,000 employees working on technological innovation to create a smarter and better life for people around the world.

OPPO has made a new deal with Vodafone. The deal announced between OPPO and Vodafone states that OPPO introduces and distributes new products in all of the operators’ European markets, including the Netherlands, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Romania, the United Kingdom and Turkey, starting May.

Vodafone will collaborate to have the products available and expanded to other markets. The agreement will enable OPPO and Vodafone to accelerate 5G adoption across Vodafone’s markets, according to the company website.

Ahmed Essam, Vodafone Group Chief Commercial Operations and Strategy Officer, says, “The combination of OPPO’s state-of-the-art devices and Vodafone’s leading network will give our customers greater choice with the full potential of 5G. Vodafone’s partnership with OPPO brings together their attractive product portfolio with our growing strength in 5G to our markets across Europe and beyond.”

Regarding the restrictions adopted because of coronavirus, both companies will develop online sales channels and ensure continued support for customers, and will work to ensure the continued safety of employees and customers as restrictions begin to ease.
