The iPad Pro 2024 Is a Treasure Trove of Features

The release of the iPad Pro 2024 and the next-generation iPad Air has faced several delays, as reported by DigiTimes.

The release of the iPad Pro 2024 and the next-generation iPad Air has faced several delays, as reported by DigiTimes. Both devices were originally scheduled for release in March alongside the new M3 MacBook Air. However, the iPad Pro 2024 has been postponed multiple times, according to sources within Apple’s supply chain.

Mark Gurman, Bloomberg’s reporter, has suggested that Apple has finally set a launch date for the new series. Despite the previous delays, reports are indicating that the new iPad Pro will be announced during the week of May 6, 2024.

The upcoming iPad Pro is expected to bring several exciting features. A key significant change is the adoption of OLED displays, which is likely to lead to higher prices compared to older versions. As per the leaker known as yeux1122 who has a mixed track record, the starting price of the latest iPad pro version could be approximately $1,499, almost double the prices of the current models.

However, other sources, such as DigiTimes, suggest a more modest price increase of around $160 for both the 11-inch and 12.9-inch models. This would place the new starting prices at $999 and $1,199, respectively, which is still a significant increase but more in line with expectations.

Concerning the features, this new device is expected to come with a range of upgrades, especially those related to the OLED panel, which will offer a sharper and brighter display compared to the current mini-LED screens. The new display will be more power-efficient, leading to improved battery life.

Additionally, it is speculated that the iPad Pro 2024 will include a relocated webcam, an upgraded M3 chip for enhanced performance, a slimmer chassis, and thinner bezels. The relocation of the webcam is believed to enable a “landscape webcam” setup, potentially enhancing the user experience during video calls.

Reports indicate that the iPad Pro 2024 will also be thinner than its predecessor. It is assumed that the 12.9-inch model will see a reduction in thickness from 6.4mm to 5mm, while the 11-inch model may go from 5.9mm to 5.1mm. The inclusion of slimmer bezels will probably enhance the overall viewing experience, providing users with a more immersive display.

Alongside the iPad Pro 2024, rumors suggest that Apple is developing a new Apple Pencil with an innovative squeeze gesture feature, as well as a new Magic Keyboard. These additions indicate that the iPad Pro 2024 is poised to be a substantial upgrade over its predecessor, offering a variety of new features and enhancements.
